About
What else I shoot
I work outside of my core area, shooting model portfolio and conventional portraiture, creative composites, and horror. I like to shoot almost anything that I can use to hone my posing, lighting, and retouching skills. I post a bit of everything I shoot, whether it is great or mediocre on my Facebook photography page.
What I don’t shoot
I won’t shoot boudoir or intensely sexual images. I was recently asked by a model to explain why. There are a lot of photographers who do that well, better than I ever would, and I don’t feel that I would be adding anything to the world by doing them. I am happy to provide referrals to photographers that do an excellent job of boudoir if that is something that you are looking to shoot.
What I am looking to get out of this
I take photographs because I feel an intense need for a creative outlet and I really enjoy the process. I crave external validation, knowing that people enjoy seeing what I create, so I exhibit my work in galleries, online, and in print. Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
I am in the middle of three generations of photographers. My father is not just an award winning photographer but he is also the kind of dad who did not bat an eyelash when he returned home one day to find that his teenage son had taken over a room of the house and built a darkroom. My oldest son has had work displayed in a juried show. My youngest son, who is nine is just starting but already knows the effect of aperture on depth of field and is producing interesting photos. Please look at my work and the services I offer. I'm always looking for models, makeup artists, stylists, and of course patrons.
Community Involvement
I am a proud member of the Mid-Michigan Artist Guild and the Greater Lansing Arts Council. I have served on the board of the MMAG since 2017 and am currently the Vice President. I am also active in the local model photography community. I speak, hold workshops, and do collaborations with other artists.
